Baby would you walk with me home
Baby would you take my hand
Come with me now to our special land
Baby would you walk with me home
It's three a.m. and you're on my mind once again
I must have been dreaming
I thought I felt your heartbeat just then
Andromeda sat, head cocked in a downward position, in a semblance of sleep. It was nice to not
do anything sometimes. As a starship, she was constantly alert, everywhere. She saw everything,
heard it all -- it hurt her head sometimes just thinking about it. Rommie was learning the value
of privacy, as well as other sentient being characteristics. She shut her eyes tighter, pushing
herself into her own private place, where no one would ever intrude . . .
She dreamed of Dylan, although dream was too weak a word. She imagined every bit of him, his toned muscles, the way sweat gleamed on his bronzed skin. His unruly blonde hair, his glowing blue eyes. For a moment, Rommie wished she was human, just to know Dylan in a way she never would. Why would Dylan look at her in any other way except friendship? They had been together over three hundred years . . . ! And it didn't matter to Dylan. He still grieved over Sarah, his family, his friends . . . It didn't matter to him that she was still here, still worrying over him, still caring about him . . . Rommie let a tear slip out from under clenched lids and pushed all hurtful thoughts from her mind.
Then I wondered how it would be
If I was your lady and you were my friend
I would put my heart in your hands
And it would never end
Baby would you walk me home
I don't want to go all the way alone
Baby would you walk with me home
Baby would you take my hand
Beka Valentine was still wide awake, though she was very tired. It had been a long day for
everyone. Correction: every day was long on the Andromeda. She rubbed her eyes wearily and
pushed her blonde hair out of her face for the twentieth time. She was sore all over, and all
she wanted to do was go to sleep. But sleep was impossible with him on her mind. He -- well, half
the time she was ticked off at him and half the time she was smitten with him. And that made her
ashamed. Honestly, she wasn't an earth schoolgirl in love with the resident hunk! At least she
hoped not . . .
Damn man. Who in their right mind would wear a chainmail shirt? Well, all right, she wore those leather jumpsuits, but still . . . Fine, she was denying her feelings to even herself. Tyr. A short name, very masculine, no added frills. Just what she liked. Wasn't it? Damn, this man had her all confused! And Beka Valentine certainly didn't like to be confused, not when it came to anything. Certainly not men! Though Tyr didn't seem to be interested in pursuing any kind of relationship with anyone on this ship, Beka still wasn't sure . . . Damn man!
Come with me now to our special land,
Baby would you walk with me home
I hold your picture next to my heart all the time
Oh yeah baby
You're my dream come true so glad you're entire
Then I wondered how it would be
if I was your lady and you were my friend
I would put my heart in your hands
And it would never end
The ship hung heavy with confusion, sadness, and unrequited love. Three women, so different on
the outside, unknowingly bound through their feelings.
Baby would you walk me home
I don't want to go all the way alone
Baby would you walk with me home
Baby would you take my hand
Come with me now to our special land,
Baby would you walk with me home
Every day and night I want to hold you
Understand that I am going to love you
In my own special way
Baby would you walk me home
I don't want to go all the way alone
Baby would you walk with me home
Baby would you take my hand
Come with me now to our special land,
Baby would you walk with me home
Andromeda glided forward in empty space. Though they had missions, destinations, everyone still
knew where she was going. Home.
