Andromeda

The Ship and Her Crew

Captain Dylan Hunt
Despite being frozen in time for 300 years, High Guard Captain Dylan Hunt remains idealistic and optomistic. He's devoted his new life to restarting the Systems Commonwealth, even though that frequently seems like an impossible dream.

Dylan is played by Kevin Sorbo, best known for playing the title role in "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys."

Beka Valentine
Freighter captain Beka Valentine was raised on her ship, the Eureka Maru, by her drug-runner father. Tough, savvy, and cynical, Beka reluctantly agrees to become Dylan's first officer after her crew decides they want to stay on the Andromeda. She's a strong fighter and an expert pilot.

Beka is played by Lisa Ryder. Prior to Andromeda, she was best known from her co-starring role as "Detective Tracy Vetter" on "Forever Knight." For more information on Lisa, please check out her Official Fan Club or my Lisa Ryder Screencaps Archive

Tyr Anaszi
Pragmatic Nietzchean Tyr Anaszi is an all-around Renaissance man -- ruthless mercenary, student of philosophy, gourmet cook. Machiavellian to the extreme, he truly believes the end justifies the means, and to him, winning is everything. Like all Nietzcheans, believes the ultimate goal is the propagation of ones genetic material. Tyr can, however, have an occasional unselfish moment.

Tyr is played by Keith Hamilton Cobb, best known for playing "Noah Keefer" on "All My Children."

Trance Gemini
Enigmatic alien Trance Gemini is one of the show's big mysteries. Seemingly innocent and childlike, Trance has secrets and unknown powers that have yet to be revealed. She serves as the ship's medical officer, and loves growing plants. She has the ability to predict the possibility of future events, and has an uncanny knack for finding things.

Trance is played by Laura Bertram, perviously best known for the Canadian children's TV series "Ready or Not." Laura won two Gemini Awards (the Canadian equivalent of the Emmy Awards) for her portrayal of "Amanda Zimm" on the show.

Rev Bem
Rev Bem is one of the Magog, a savage race of swarming carnivores who kill everyone in thier path. He, however, reformed when he became a follower of The Way, a peaceful religion whose followers worship "The Divine."

Rev is played by Brent Stait.

Seamus Harper
Seamus Harper is a Andromeda's techno-savvy engineer. He's a (elf-proclaimed) "freakin' genius" who has a way with all things techincal. He has a port implanted in his neck so he can connect directly with computers, including Andromeda's computer. He's smart and seems cowardly sometimes, but he has an inner core of strength.

Harper is played by actor Gordon Michael Wolvett, previously best known for the genre series "Mission Genesis" (aka "Deepwater Black").

Andromeda
"Andromeda" can refer to any of four entities. Generally, "Andromeda" is used to refer to the physical ship itself, while "Rommie" is used to refer to the computer's persona.

Andromeda #1 -- the ship itself
Andromeda #2 -- personification of the ship's computer, appears on viewscreens throughout ship.
Andromeda #3 -- holographic representation of the ship's computer personal.
Andromeda #4 -- AI (Artifical Intelligence) or Android. Smart, with superhuman strength, Rommie is capable of emotion.

Rommie is played by actress Lexa Doig. Prior to Andromeda, Lexa co-starred on the genre series "Tekwar."
